The airport at Tetouan is small. It mainly caters for Club Med charters for their two all-inclusive holiday villages in the area. Long term this is the preferred option for travel because of its closeness to the resorts. Whether or not this will happen has long been a topic of debate and will continue to be so. Despite McDonalds building a restaurant just outside the airport it appears that Tangier airport (which is currently being expanded will be the main airport for the region for some time to come.
